Stewarton Drama Group is a registered charity and is a member club of the Scottish Community Drama Association.
We are now into our 40th year of community drama. Each season our aim is to continue the tradition that our founding members established of bringing quality amateur drama to our loyal local audience.
We have our own premises, affectionately referred to as 'The Premises' where all rehearsals are held and which itself boasts a small stage; ideal for club performances for members and patrons.
Last year we started off our busy season with our award-winning production of Mike Leigh's classic play "Abigail's Party' in October. This was followed by our fabulous Pantomime extravaganza, 'Cinderella', written and directed by Nancy McPherson.
In February we had a programme of One-Act Plays and we were pleased to stage an original play, 'Fusion', written and directed by Nancy McPherson which won the Scott Salver for the best original play in the 2012 Scottish One-Act Play Festival.
Finally, we ended the season with Amanda Whittington's comedy, 'Ladies Down Under', which was a huge success with our audiences.
We look forward to an exciting and busy season in 2012/13
