We normally have productions in October (drama), December (pantomime), February (one-act plays) and May (drama, cabaret or revue). Sometimes we also have more informal productions in our premises for our regular patrons and friends

- Membership fees for season 2010-11 are £40.00

Stewarton Drama Group is supported by a number of regular patrons, who pay an annual fee of £30.00 per person and receive the following benefits in return:
- 2 tickets to each of our 4 annual productions

- invitations to our informal Patrons Evenings

Who are we ?
We are a group of adults, mainly from the Stewarton local area, who share an interest in amateur drama. We are a registered charity, with an agreed set of rules which determine how we run our group. We all pay an annual membership fee which entitles us to participate in group activities for that year. We elect a management committee each year and they commit some extra time, on our behalf, to running the group.
What do we do?
We usually put on four productions a year in our local theatre in Stewarton. These productions are full-length or one-act plays, a pantomime and sometimes some informal productions for our patrons. We meet in our own premises in Stewarton on Wednesdays and Thursdays to rehearse to prepare for performances. We are members of the Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA) whose Festivals we enter on a regular basis.

What would we expect of you?

Amateur drama is fun and it’s a team effort. Everyone works hard, nobody gets paid and we work on shoestring budgets! So we need members to help with different aspects of productions, even if they are also acting. Members also need to be prepared to work co-operatively, be able to take instructions from directors and stage managers, show respect to others and work to disciplined schedules. Being able to cope with the stress of live performances and keep smiling is also important! Maintaining a professional attitude and putting in a bit of time and effort pays off when you get a warm buzz after a production, knowing that you are part of a team and you are keeping live theatre going in your local community!
